Individual therapy is one of the most empowering steps a person can take in developing a greater sense of self-awareness and self worth, shifting unhealthy patterns, and finding meaning and joy in life. I help clients greet and navigate transitions in life, whether they are exploring their interpersonal connections, gender, sexuality, sexual orientation, occupation, passions, or stage in life.
I am culturally-informed, trauma-informed, and LGBTQIA+ affirming. I am committed to bearing witness, to providing a safe space where we can work through sensitive issues together, and meeting all with integrity and unconditional positive regard.
Sessions are collaboratively tailored to each individual, with an emphasis placed on helping clients express their authentic selves and set forth on a path of meaning and fulfillment. These individual therapy sessions are aimed at helping clients examine their thoughts and emotions, improve communication skills, and create and maintain boundaries. In doing so, clients begin to liberate themselves from cycles of trauma and habit and embark upon a path of self-discovery and personal growth.
Elizabeth meets with patients seeking therapy for diverse reasons. Common topics that we discuss in individual therapy sessions include finding meaning and increasing joy in life, as well as greeting and navigating life’s transitions. Elizabeth also guides clients who are exploring their gender, sexuality, relationship styles, body image and interpersonal connections.

Elizabeth utilizes multiple approaches in her individual therapy sessions depending on the client. Some of the frameworks she integrates in her practice include:
Client-Centered (Unconditional Positive Regard): This non-directive form of therapy involves expressing unwavering support, empathy and acceptance of the client, which promotes self-acceptance and self-love – making growth and change possible.
Strengths-Based: This type of psychotherapy helps clients understand and utilize their strengths, which assists in building hope and confidence about their ability to overcome challenges
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): This form of psychological treatment has been demonstrated to be very effective for a wide range of issues. The therapy involves efforts to change thinking patterns and behaviors to quickly reduce suffering and to improve and maintain wellbeing.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy: This type of psychotherapy involves a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), meditation, and the cultivation of a present-oriented, non-judgmental attitude called “mindfulness”. Through mindfulness, clients can discover that difficult and unwanted thoughts and feelings can be held in awareness, and seen from an altogether different perspective – a perspective that brings with it a sense of care and compassion to the suffering one may be experiencing and a sense of release from negative patterns.
Attachment-Focused: This process-oriented form of therapy fosters healing by focusing on trust and the ability to create deep and meaningful connections. Therapy involves addressing the limiting effects of negative early attachment experiences and strengthening the client’s capacity for secure relationships and adaptive actions in the world.
Internal Family Systems: IFS is a non-pathologizing technique based on compassion, trust, honesty, and encouragement and invites clients to acknowledge each unique part of themselves and to recognize the strengths and weaknesses within them and how they influence behaviors and emotions.
Therapy sessions are always tailored to the client’s unique emotional and psychological needs. Elizabeth is committed to providing a safe space in which she and the client can work through sensitive issues together.
